I mean the $1500 you have

If I remember correctly it's $500 for every gangster you kill. Also with the Thompson you get 50/250 bullets

I don't remember. But you can get more ammo if you pick up the gun of a killed villain after reloading

That's true. I used to have my own warehouse in game

All weapons stashed, cool cars etc. No modding, just playing
