About Me
Greetings everyone. My name is DnA although some of you may know be by my old name, Hawk (former leader of The Golden Squadron).

Overview
I'd like to share with you a small tool I've created to ease the process for players wanting to connect online. After exploring the RpR website a little the recommended method these days seems to be mapping the gamespy server host addresses towards the Qtracker server. I can imagine that some users (especially ones new to the game) may have some difficulty making changes to their hosts file correctly.

With that in mind I've created a small tool that will automatically patch a user's hosts file with the correct information, as well as flushing the user's DNS cache if changes are made.

Requirements
Instructions
  1. Download HD2 Hosts Patcher
  2. Run the program
  3. Press 'Y' to begin the patching process
  4. All done!

Nice, thank you!
Would there be any way to automatically put the found servers into the favourites (serverlist.bin) section? That way, if QTracker is down, players can still find all servers.

Well the tool is strictly a hosts patcher. Do Qtracker servers go down often?

Well, it goes down every now and then. I am not sure how often because I primarily use my favourites list so I don't always notice, there are some servers that do not show in QTracker.

:) I made program with same function almost 2 years ago...
Discussed Here
Sad thing is that its lost, I cant even find it on my HDD.

It had no .Net requirements.
This can be annoying to install some additional software just to edit Hosts file, its much quicker to go and edit it manually.

Can this program edit locked Hosts file ?

The one who hesitates is lost !
