CMP 1.9 compatibility with other mods? was created by p.jakub88
Hello everyone,
i am looking to install some mods for H&D 2 (like new textures and sounds for weapons, etc).
How this will affect the CMP 1.9 "install" and the ability to join =RPR= Clan servers? I don't want to block myself from playing online (which is the main reason why i installed H&D 2).
Does singleplayer mods impact also multiplayer? I am not familiar with H&D 2 modding, being a H&D Deluxe modder instead.
Thanks in advance for any info!
Best wishes
Jakub

Hi Jakub
From what I know, H&D2 CMP 1.9 copies folders and their content, replacing anything with the same file name, over what you have inside your main folder: Maps, Missions, Models, Scripts and Sound. Additionally, you have the mpmaplist.txt for server usage.
Other mods should do the same, meaning weapon mods or uniform/texture mods. If you're using Linux, some mods do have a problem because their naming convention is not correct, meaning caps is not respected. For Windows file name caps don't matter, but for Linux they do.

Thanks for quick reply snowman!
What about the mod called "H&D2; and SS merged campaign mod"? https://www.moddb.com/mods/hd2-and-ss-merged-campaign-mod/downloads
Does it impact multiplayer too?

I have never tried that, and it may seem that it won't impact Multiplayer. Please backup your files before trying, so you can restore everything back.

Well, i installed the mod on another PC with H&D 2 just for testing purposes. I choose the "Chronological version".
I connected to both =RPR= Otto (NM3 Bridge map) and =RPR= Justice (Libya 3 map) servers today without problems.
