Good day friends!

Over the last several weeks I have been using the Ghidra + MCP + Claude Opus 5.5 stack to decompile HD2_SabreSquadron.exe, LS3DF.dll, and rw_data.dll into working C++ source code we can modify and compile ourselves into working binaries.

After some private testing on the Blair coop servers last night, we have reached an important milestone: the first public release. Many things are as yet untested, and porting the dedicated server hasn't even started (although about 25% of its functions are completely identical to the client).

What has been tested (not an exhaustive list):
  • All multiplayer modes load (so far cooperative has had the most testing done)
  • All single player missions load without crashing
    • Africa1, Africa2, and Africa6 have been played to completion without issue.
  • Some vehicles: SAS Jeep, BMW R75 motorcycle, Panzer III, FlaK truck, desert Opel truck, and submarine all work
  • All items seem to work so far, including the aqualung on maps with swimming areas
  • Squad commands in single player
  • Tactical mode in single player
  • Modded files still load correctly
