I just noticed that the plus wire has molten, so that was where the smoke was coming from... They will probably say I have connected it wrong with plus to minus but I am 100% sure I didn't (and I would not have seen the leds lit up) but I am pretty sure if I share this photo with the seller that's what they are going to say...not sure yet what I'll do.

When i was living in Paris, on rainy days there was always a small Chinese shopkeeper who put his stock of low-priced umbrellas on sale on the sidewalk. One evening when i came out of the subway, I bought one because it was raining like in Brittany. When i asked him how long it was guaranteed, he replied: "Up to the opposite sidewalk."
