This contemporary Buddhist temple was built in 1997 by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. Wat Rong Khun, better known as the "White Temple" stands out for its originality and temples was built in honor of the present King Rama IX. Following the earthquake that took place in Thailand in May, the temple was heavily damaged and its structure is now defective. But the architect gives himself body and soul into the restoration and states to spend the rest of his life! The color white symbolizes the purity of the temple of Buddhism and mirror pieces were embedded during construction to allow the sun's reflection and thus be permanently illuminated. It is between two giant crocs and amazing lake dotted with creatures of the underworld that visitors will have the opportunity to enter this fantastic home. Enjoy!
