Precisely this one ...
Well, i watched this movie last night, for the 76th time at least, and i don't have any doubt that everybody here has already seen this movie, but this is the "What are you listening" forum ...So, here we are, Bach's Brandenburg concertos, and particularly the 6th, and particularly this movement, the 3rd and last one …
C’mon, I’m pretty sure it tells you something... The scene takes place at 2:37’43”, until 2:40”17 … It’s about this cease-fire in Arnhem, during Operation Market-Garden … I don’t know for you but, for me, i’ve also read the book by Cornelius Ryan, a long time ago. I of course don’t remember all the details but, knowing that Ryan was a perfectionist and worried a lot about the precise actual events, i don’t have any doubt that this testimony about this British paratrooper playing flute during cease-fire in Arnhem is actual …
Just some words about that, please forgive this digression: The fact that the humanitarian cease-fire of 24 September in Arnhem is due to Bittrich’s agreement is not disputed. This is not a scoop, the nazis are not my friends but, until proven otherwise, Bitttrich managed to stay, let's say relatively clean, in the slaughter of World War II, unlike many of his peers from the SS. Accused of war crimes in 1953 for his alleged responsibility in the execution of 17 members of the French Resistance, it was recognized that Bittrich had no knowledge of such acts and had taken sanctions against the involved German servicemen, when he became aware about them. I will not forgive him anything, but i think that this exception should be underlined …
But i talk, i talk … Time to shut up and make place for Johann Sebastian …

Back from some shopping. I planned to prepare for tonight or tomorrow a famous classic of French cooking, the Hachis Parmentier .
So i bought some fresh mixed beef, tomatoes, green salad, onions, mashed potatoes, full fat milk, butter and a bit of parsley.
Oh, on my way back home, i also picked this one ...

Substance 1987, the collection of singles by New Order, including the extended version (and from far the best one in my opinion) of one of my favourites, The Perfect Kiss ( #7 , 35:41)
