Here comes Stan Getz, with a remarkable performance on his album Serenity.
One of the earliest artists that made me want to listen a little more in this style of music. I remember well, it was in 89 or maybe 90, the company had win a huge contract, we worked on three-shift system and the boss had hired temporary workers to strengthen the staff. One evening in the scan room, a temporary employee (a little blonde with green eyes to die for) had plugged her receiver on FIP, a French radio specialized in jazz. At one moment, without stopping her job, she pushed the sound a little and said: "Well, listen to this, it's Stan Getz". Well, i did as she said ...
Stan Getz - I remember you
EDIT : Alright, that's also what is fine in this style of music, let's compare with different versions of this standard, here's one performed by another monster, Charlie 'Bird' Parker...
Al Cohn...
Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley...
and also this cool one, performed by Jim Hall "and his modest jazz trio"...
EDIT 2 : Who knows, maybe you wanted it in Diana's style...?

Here comes Billie Holiday, aka "Duchess".
Some so called great minds say that Lady in Satin is part of the 1001 albums that one must have heard once in his life.
Fuck that, don't give a shit about such "must" decreed by the critics. Music has no such obligations, it's only for us. We take it or not, that's all.
I take Lady in Satin.

Extract from the legendary album Piano Starts Here (an album that one must have listened at least once in his life, hu ...), here's a title that everyone knows ...
But this is Art Tatum who plays here ...
