This is a Gem among Japanese Films. Its a four part series, unfortunately i could only find the first part.

The Hoodlum Soldier (1965)

In the final days of WW2, Japan and Russia were about to go to war. Japanese Army is stationed in the eastern Japan preparing for incoming war from Russian front. An intellectual Japanese soldier is stationed in reserve infantry who is desperately Draft dodging to avoid going to front. As Japan looses on manpower, criminals and Social outcasts are also recruited into Army by Japanese Govt to intensify war effort. Among this is a Japanese Yakuza member who has utter contempt for Army discipline. This guy along with Draft Dodger plan together to hatch an escape plan from Army.

The film has many elements - Message of Anti War along with Satirical comedy.
