Could you tell me how to properly import H&D 2 maps into H&D Deluxe? Anyone tried that? They could be used i.e. as a basis for addon making.
I tried with 3ds Max 2013, 3ds Max 2010 and 3ds Max 8 using 4ds import plugin (either by pudingus or hdmaster), but so far i only managed to export the 4ds to 3ds without having visible gaps between terrain visuals in case of exporting from 4ds to WRL format (which could be imported into old 3ds max 3.1 and later converted into game-ready i3d format). I don't like the conversion to 3ds since it changes default textures file names when they are too long. On the other hand converting 4ds to .max is not a solution, because older 3ds max version cannot open .max files created in newer 3ds max version. Unfortunately 3ds max 3.1 is not able to import .4ds files directly. There is also no i3d export plugin that i know that exist for 3ds max versions other than 3.1 release.
