I suggest you are TL and only move around the map. Maybe take 2 clips, a nade
and a knife with you Let others do the job, you do the directing. It's better than
leaving.

But if you lose the TL every 5 minutes due to connexion problems, it changes nothing on the problem

EDIT : One can answer "We can continue without the TL". Sure, but in this case, what for a TL ?

And we can focus on simple stuff. TL or group decide how we try to finish
the mission, what objectives are primary and need to be dealth with first,
who will lead the group, what group does what. You don't have to bust your
brains into moving everyone like chess pieces.

Give a general profile of how you would like to see the soldier behave in
a mission( like keep low profile, always move when someone covers you,
never cross like of fire, always move from cover to cover, if not in a battle
and you spot an enemy not yet aware of the group, hold fire until the team
gets in position to defend agains an attack, what to do in case of tanks and
vehicles, how to handle explosive zones, how to fall back to medic, how to
collect ammo and when etc). This way you only have to focus on giving tasks,
not managing everyone by hand. If we fail, we fail. We try again or we try
it differently if it doesn't work.

TL can assign someone as 2nd in command. You didn't have connection
problems that often. It was mostly getting bugged.
