Oh yeah I was supposed to fix that years ago, wasn't I?
I've also seen some funky LOD's in the arctic maps. I'd imagine the LOD distance is lower on those maps due to the size and density of objects? With that in mind I recall LS3D getting fussy if I tried to create, say, landscape textures over a certain size. I believe that is also why the textures fuzz up and turn white on the RpR uniform (but I haven't had a chance to test that in the past 4 years because I'm lazy)
