Well with hindsight I should have taken a pistol and shoot him a few times in his feet
It's a pity we can't heal enemies --> shoot, heal, run and repeat

Prefer in which way?
Visually with grass is better.
But since the enemy can see through grass, fog, trees and so on it gives you a great disadvantage.

Grass, even if the enemy sees you and you don't see him. It's the same problem in Arma.
