Another good news on "animation" objects.
Lutsip makes it possible to make objects explode with the "animation" actor. You then can add some effects when the object gets destroyed with a destroyed model that asks for a .i3d file format which is in fact just a .4ds file combined with a .5ds one.
So I noticed that the collision didn't work after the object was destroyed so FlashX helped me on this issue. Since we don't really have .5ds support it isn't a big issue because the explosion effect "hides" the conversion from undamaged to destroyed so it's technically a model switch.
My model didn't have an animation connected so without it the actor doesn't work properly. I had to manually change the last byte in the .4ds file of the destructed version from 0x00 to some non-zero value (0x01 works, for example the destroyed italian plane from africa1 "la_ma200A.4ds" uses 0x04 but we don't know what this byte means) the LS3D engine expects the model also has a 5DS animation named the same.
I used an empty .5ds file, properly formatted, but not actually animating anything, thanks to FlashX.
